One Who’s Wrong

I made the mistake,
Of asking you to help me too,
I didn’t know I didn’t see,
I should have never asked anything of you,
That’s a promise I made,
I should have known,
That deep in your heart,
You wished for someone,
Who would ask for nothing,
But to hold your heart,
The one who would be there if your
World fell apart,
No cash to lean on,
Not a friend to turn to,
All along the test was
For me,
Forgive me I needed to open my eyes,
To the pain you have inside,
Everyone asks you for something,
Except to love your soul,
Forgive me, I didn’t see,
I thought this was
Just an ordinary type of company,
How could I be so wrong,
No wonder you didn’t
Answer me when
My heart light
Was almost gone,
I’d risk my life,
To see just the smile
In your eyes,
Just to hold your
Hand and watch the sunrise,
If it’s the last breath
That I will take,
Please I only ask
For one wish,
That would be
To know the sweet surrender,
Of being in your arms,
To touch your face,
And know that
True love exists
For us in this life,
Even for just my last,
Moments before
Returning to heaven,
I wish to feel
The love and not the pain
Of never knowing you
Except in the memories
Of my dreams.
