Fly To You

Standing on the edge of a cliff,
I take a step, and fly,
My feet used to be on the ground,
And now I’m soaring heaven bound,
I feel the wind,
As it lifts me higher.
I know the reason for the change in the wind,
It’s your love, that’s changed the way I feel inside,
I’ve disappeared and they wonder where I’ve gone,
Angel, don’t worry I’m flying straight to you.
Now I know its you, that has given me wings,
Never felt so free,
There’s something deep in my heart,
I’ve kept hidden and locked away.
It’s your heart that holds the key.
It’s your deep love,
That’s heaven sent,
The love that saved me,
When I was lost in the desert.
You were the oasis,
I needed to keep me alive,
You are the water and the rain,
I’ll take away the loneliness and the pain.
I take a step and fly,
And now I’m soaring heaven bound,
So keep your heart light on,
I’m halfway there,
They tried to keep me down,
But you are the thunder,
I hear you,
You are the lightning,
Striking those that would harm me,
Above the clouds I fly,
You are the storm below,
Giving me cover from the arrows,
That would take my life,
In the quiet of the night,
I’m gliding, silently,
Rest easy, close your eyes,
My old life is behind me,
I’m only looking ahead,
Sleep my soul angel,
It’s a new day,
When you open your eyes,
We’ll both see the dawn. |
