An Unusual  Valentines Day Poem,
(For every day that I love you)

This is an “Unusual Valentines Day Poem”
Its for every day that I love you.

Some people talk of roses,
Wine, and silk and satin,

A night of passion,
And heated lust,

For Valentines Day,
It’s a lovers must,

They talk of union,
Of Marriage too,

But my love,
My love is deeper than just,
A breathless romance,

Or a passionate night of dance,

A wedding is a glorious time,
Full of song, dance champagne and fine wine,

But I want to know what happens later?
Does anyone stop to think of what love means,
When every day you see the one you love, and that day,
Was just awful and they fall apart at the seams?

Like the days that  you have a horrible cold,
You look awful, with your nose running,
You weren’t sure about what you ate,
And you know it’s the stomach bug,
Uh, oh do feel like you are going to throw up on the rug?
In case you have a boo boo?

And like a little baby, you need to run the toilet,
What about the nights when you have a stomach ache?
And you have a fever from the flu,

Or  in the morning you want a breathless kiss?
Start the day with passion but you had to have those hot wings,
And garlic fries,, and they are coming up,
With the morning burps, and chirps,
And you hardly smell like a rose of prize?
What on earth did my handsome prince eat?

Must be the bean dip he is making sounds,
Like a truck driver that ate a bowl full of chili,
And now he is giggling now because he knows,
I’m talking about how a guy can fart so loud,
He can scare the dog silly,

Do you see where I’m going with this?
Everyone has their ups and downs,

But if you live with a little clown,
She’ll laugh it off, and be your nurse,
With a tender touch she’ll cool your fever,

Give you some pink Pepto-Bismol to sooth your stomach,
And make you some chicken soup to warm your tummy,

I’ll turn that frown upside down, or wrap  you up,
In a soft terry robe, tuck you in to bed with a gentle kiss,
A humidifier, a box of Kleenex, some water, and some aspirin too, and Some funny videos if you are feeling blue,

See I understand you can’t always be Superman,
And I can’t always be Wonder Woman,

Like right now, I’m feeling scared and fragile,
And I need someone to hold me tight,
And say,;
“I’ve got you sweetheart, everything will be all right”
I won’t let any harm come to you,

I’ll give you your dreams and then some,
Because you’ve worked so hard to make them come true on your own,
Let me be your Superman,
I know your love is real and honest,
You know that life has its ups and downs,
But you are my little  monkey who makes  me smile and laugh,
When I’m feeling down,  you always find a way to show me,
You love me in your own special way.

In your own funny little way,
With special kisses just for nothing,
And you even wear your wedding lingerie for me,

When I ask you even though its not Valentines Day,
That’s why I want to love and be with you forever,

Because you  know that love is much more than a wedding day.
Or a box of chocolates, and roses, and a romantic dinner.

You cherish everyday with me, and make the simple things special,
And the best place for you to be,
is with me,
Right here, right now, not just on Valentines Day.

Lets give that to the other couples,

Since Valentines Day is the day of love,
 That day  they get to keep for free,

You would give up Valentines Day, in a heartbeat,
To make everyday an,
Unusual Valentines Day,
With me.
